Why ruin a good love story with gratuitous violence? Why does Matthew tell us about the "slaughter of the innocents"? This story reminds us that Jesus came to be the King of a Kingdom and to follow this King means that we will not be at home in this world. (Matthew 2.13-21) December 30, 2018
