The Sacrifice of Thanksgiving

Most of the time, we approach the Lord’s Supper table through the lens of the Passover, and with good reason. But if all of the law points to Christ, and if Christ is the once for all sacrifice, then not only does the Passover point to Jesus but so does the Thanksgiving Sacrifice. When we come to the Table through the lens of the Thanksgiving Sacrifice, we discover that Christ not only delivers us from the snares of death in the tribulations of this world, but our individual moments of deliverance are a foretaste of the eternal deliverance we have in Christ.
