Why Should We Believe in the Resurrection of Jesus?

The historical, bodily resurrection of Jesus is essential to the Christian faith, but how do we know that it really happened? Why should we believe in the resurrection of Jesus? The apostle John wrote his gospel so that we could believe in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God, and to have life in His name.
